Next Meeting - Tuesday evening, February 9th. Our speaker will be Ollie Harvey who manages the Building Bridges to Youth program here in Stuart. This group helps local youth be successful in school and prepare them for service to our community. Come and share the hope these youths and Ms. Harvey represent. We will honor Black History Month also. Social time begins at 5:30 and our meeting at 6:00 P.M.
Notice - Please be aware that we will not have a March meeting due to our fundraising event.
Fund Raiser - The DWC of Martin County will host Mark Russell, political satirist, at the Lyric Theatre. The show begins at 6:30 P.M. There are just a few tickets left so call Barbara at 341-6035 if you need one, two or three or more!!!! Price is $50.00 per ticket. This is our only scheduled fund raiser for the year so please participate if possible.
Membership renewal - Memberships are now due for renewal. You may pay your $20.00 dues at the next meeting or when you receive your membership renewal letter.
April Meeting - We are hoping to have a local attorney present issues surrounding the reapportioning/
redistricting proposals. More as we get nearer the event.
Other news - Our dear friend, Ricky (Rita) Kissen fell over a cat toy in her home and broke her hip. She has been receiving physical therapy at Water's Edge in Palm City. The address is 1600 SW Capri St.,
Palm City, FL 34990. I'm sure she'd love to hear from you.
Another friend, Joan Wolfberg, called me the other day from Seattle. She and husband, Marty, are enjoying living there and have found interesting people. For those of you who don't know, Joan is an actress who gave us the lovely gift of presenting her version of Golda Mier at a fundraiser several years ago. She is currently directing and producing local theater.
Food Donations - Daisy Carter received a note from White Dove thanking the DWC of Martin County for our donations of food. Please remember to bring something to share with those who are in need.
