IRAQ CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Martin County Democrats

MARTIN COUNTY FLORIDA DEMOCRATIC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

February 19, 2007

WHEREAS
the war in Iraq was entered into on falsehoods; and,

WHEREAS weapons of mass destruction have never been found; and,

WHEREAS there has never been a link established between the September 11th attack and the Saddam Hussein Iraq government; and,

WHEREAS the American people are overwhelmingly against the war and in favor of full withdrawal; and,

WHEREAS our economy and the people of the United States cannot continue to borrow to pay for this war without doing terrible harm to nation's future economy; and,

WHEREAS war profiteering is rampant; and,

WHEREAS the loss of life, both for the United States and Iraq is appalling, and the numbers of injured Americans overcrowding our already under- funded Veteran's Hospitals will be a constant reminder of the folly of Bush's war long into the future;

Therefore, let it be

RESOLVED by the Martin County Florida Democratic Executive Committee, that the United States should begin the withdrawal of all United States forces from Iraq (except Embassy personnel) as expeditiously as possible, and the U S Congress should refuse to fund increased troop levels. This is both a civil war and a religious war that has been going on for over one thousand years. The United States can't help Iraq solve it's religious sectarian violence and the presence of our troops is adding to the problem.

Bring all our troops home now.
